Online Marketing & Mobile Marketing

Online marketing is used to increase the brand visibility in the marketplace and increase traffic, leads and sales. It needs to find a way to rank highly in search engines and to drive more traffic to the website to enhance more consumers know about the brands, products or services. The production cost of develop a online marketing is much lower than general marketing campaign on TV, Magazine, etc. since online marketing can be update time to time for whole page instead of specific service or product.


Besides online, mobile marketing is also important to market now. Most consumers in the world are willing to use mobile to do everything e.g. reading books, playing the games, written the blog, share the photo, etc. Thus, mobile marketing will be a large and potential platform for marketers to have their new promotion to target consumers directy.

From my previous posts, Dood Me Co is belong one of mobile marketing through wireless or online network. It makes the reading of printed media become more interactive and interesting nowadays. Dood Me Co also helping to promote the brands, web sites, products and services to consumers when the users snapping the code to their mobile. The Adv & Disadv of Using Dood Me Co

Advantages of Dood Me Co?

1) Anytime & Anywhere & Anybody
For User: Anybody can install the Doo Me Co at anytime when paid. Marketing message can be shown in local languages that everybody in different countries can read through as well. Then, when consumers found the code from printed media, they also can capture the code for reading the extra information with no time limited. It enhanced access to website away from home as well.

For Sellers: They can keep selling their products in 24hrs when the interested parties are found; the cost is fixed but message can last for longer. Also, the print media can be distributed to consumers at anywhere e.g convenience shops, hawkers, MTR stations that the marketing message can be disclose to consumers at anywhere.

2) Time & Cost Reduction for Users
The user only pay with less than hundred dollar to download the reader for decoding that it will shorten the total searching time on internet manually.

3) Raised the Marketing Message Effectiveness
When the users take action, it means they are interested in the article that the marketing message can send to user via the code directly. At the same times, the effectiveness for marketing promotion is raised since potential consumers can read the messages directly and it can last for longer time in consumer minds than other types advertisements at all.

Disadvantages of Dood Me Co?

1) Distribution Channel is Narrow
Only print media can be found for Dood Me Co that may cannot be reach mass public and some target audience.

2) Limited Service Provider
In Hong Kong, this service is only provided by 3 Hong Kong that most of the mobile users cannot try this new technology.

3) Extra Production Cost
Since the marketers spent on print advertisement to promote their products already, but extra money need to spend if place the Dood Me Co on its print adv. Since they need to provide more and new information and message to consumers.

Dood Me Co is a 2D Barcode technologies developed by 2DiC in partnership with Hutchison Telecommunications (3 Hong Kong), and New Media Group. It is not only breaks through the traditional reading but also creates a new page between print media and consumers as well. It makes the print media becomes interactive, interesting, informative and shareable.


When the users downloaded the Dood Me Co Reader to their mobile phone (with camera), captured the code, decoding software reads the encoded information and prompts your phone's browser to visit the URL contained in the 2D barcode. Additional information like pictures, video, images, songs and text that can be read through in once. It reduced the time for typing, searching on the internet via the mobile at all. Dood Me Co is popular in different countries (e.g. Japan & HK) and we can find it from different teenager magazines easily, such as 新 Monday, 新假期.

The Definition of Mobile Marketing


Hong Kong, where a city owed the most no. of mobile phone in the world. More than 1777 mobile phones are owned by each 1000 HK people (until Jan 2010).
Mobile phone being one of the most important communicating tools in the world that people can connect with others via this device at anytime and anywhere. Mobile marketing will being a potential promotion platform for advertising products and services to consumers privately, directly, effectively.

Mobile marketing is adopting the mobile platform to distribute the advertising message consumers via the network. Mobile marketing not only talking about text but also images, audio and video. Mobile marketing included SMS, MMS, mobile games, web pages, bluetooth and infrared etc. for presenting the message to consumers. Mobile marketing can send out to target consumer within a second with immeidate effect and last for longer period of time. The production cost and running cost is much lower than other visual marketing tools, e.g. magazine, TV, etc.
